What you'll be doing: strong> p>
 •  Providing professional advice and counsel, to help influence the delivery of strategic business priorities li>
 •  Providing support to directors and senior leaders li>
 •  Devising communications strategies and plans for the Submarines business li>
 •  Be a part of the Communications leadership team to help coordinate and manage communication planning and delivery, leading the delivery of impactful employee communications campaigns li>
 •  Work with HR colleagues to devise strategies and plans to improve employee engagement li>
 •  Support leaders to effectively engage and communicate with their teams li>
 •  Support reputation management, including media relations where appropriate li>
 •  Support the delivery of effective business continuity and crisis management, as well as change and transformation programmes li>
 •  Play a significant role in working effectively across communication teams within Sectors, Lines of Business and/ or Group li> ul>

Your skills and experiences: strong> p>
Essential: p>
 •  Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders with a strong customer focus and the ability to communicate with people at all levels effectively li>
 •  Expert knowledge of core communications principles, techniques and skills li>
 •  Ability to translate business strategy into action for people agendas, creating winning solutions and output for the business li>
 •  Experience of people management or leading small teams li> ul>

Desirable: p>
 •  Experience of operating within a customer environment li>
 •  Understanding of the markets in which BAE System operates, as well as its competitors li> ul>

The Communications Function team: strong> p>

The Communications Manager will provide strategic advice and direction to support the delivery of BAE Systems' submarine programmes. In this role you'll develop engaging and creative content, to help motivate and inspire a workforce of c13,500 employees.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on multi-billion pound core submarine programmes. You will play a key role in the programme outcomes team, with the opportunity to engage with stakeholders across the public and private sector, helping to shape and deliver our communications approach.
