Management Accounts Assistant (6-month Maternity Cover)
Our client a successful an accomplished SME located in Market Harborough, is in search of a skilled Management Accounts Assistant to join their Accounts team for a temporary 6-month maternity cover position.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include maintaining the accuracy of the sales ledger, meeting processing deadlines, and ensuring precise monthly management information regarding Gross Margin recording and overheads.
Job Title: Management Accounts Assistant
Job Type: Temporary contract (6 months Maternity Cover)
Salary: £27,000.00-£29,653.98 per year
Benefits: Free on-site parking
Schedule: Monday to Friday. 09:00 – 17:30 (one hour lunch)
Hybrid working (Mon, Weds, Fri in office // Tues & Thurs WFH)
Responsibilities:
Maintain internal control over the Sales Ledger function, including preparing and updating weekly sales forecast reports and ensuring accuracy in the consolidated sales pipeline.
Collaborate closely with the Client Services team to ensure timely capture of sales movements and resolution of queries, while accurately posting sales invoices and supporting documentation.
Manage credit control activities, promptly addressing overdue invoices to minimise cash flow disruptions and ensuring reconciliation of accounts.
Establish and maintain client accounts, conduct regular credit checks, and communicate issues effectively across departments.
Foster strong cross-departmental relationships and support with KPI reporting and Gross Margin investigations.
Meet all internal deadlines set by the Finance Manager, including month-end tasks, VAT submissions, and financial reporting.
Requirements:
AAT qualification or equivalent, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with experience in cost accounting and financial principles.
Familiarity with accounting systems and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-centric and professional approach.
Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
Solution-oriented mindset, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
Knowledge of banking, VAT, and tax regulations, with experience in monthly departmental P&L creation and forex journal processing
