We have an exciting new role come in for a Catering Assistant to work for Lincolnshire Police at their headquarters in Nettleham.

This is a temporary role, working 30 hours a week Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 2pm.

Please only apply for this role if you have lived in the UK for at least the last 3 years continuously. This is due to Police Vetting Criteria.

The puprose of this role is to help provide and maintain a high standard of food and beverage service to the customer and to assist in the smooth running of the unit.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1.  Prepare working, service and dining areas for food production and service.
  1.  Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items and beverages including cooking tasks, maintaining high standards of hygiene and service and ensuring food displays are laid out and replenished as required.
  1.  Serving of main meals during lunch service times.
  1.  Preparing and garnishing food for hospitality catering.
  1.  Actively promote a helpful and friendly style of service to customers thus ensuring that customer satisfaction is always maintained.
  1.  Operate the till at service times. Assisting with the cashing up of the till.
  1.  Clearing and cleaning of all service, preparation, and dining areas. Cleaning of equipment.
  1.  Assisting with temperature recording and updating of records.
  1.  Provision of catering for emergency and planned incidents as required. These could be out of normal working hours.
  1.  The post holder will be required to undertake appropriate Food Safety and Health and Safety training.
  1.  The post holder will be required to wear a uniform and appropriate footwear and hair protection.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
 •  Experience of working in a catering environment
 •  Basic food hygiene skills
 •  Experience of preparation of sandwiches and food snack items
 •  Experience of cleaning/washing up, general kitchen duties and table preparation
 •  Able to use own initiative and work unsupervised
 •  Ability to work to deadlines
 •  Ability to develop strong working relationships
 •  Good communication and interpersonal skills
 •  Must have an adaptable and flexible approach, with a willingness to learn
