There is an exciting opportunity to become a band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse at Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Zennor Ward is a ward within Specialty Medicine at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, energetic and motivated person to assist the Charge Nurse / Ward Sister to lead the nursing teams. The successful applicant will be able to provide high quality clinical care and support to patients and teams.
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to demonstrate leadership and managerial skills as well as possessing some clinical expertise in acute renal and endocrine pathology and treatment.

Zennor is a renal and endocrine ward

To be clear, this isn’t just about being the nurse in charge, this is about creating a positive culture to enable quality care, effective patient flow and to progress the ward staff to continue with our high levels of care and compassion. Quality, compassionate, professional and effective care is the aim for all of our patients.
A development plan will be developed with milestones for you to meet.

To help provide effective, professional nursing leadership and direction for the nursing workforce and wider ward / department team.

With the support of the Charge Nurse / Sister, to be accountable for driving the Quality and Safety agenda, including the SAFER bundle.

To be a highly competent, knowledgeable and visible practitioner ensuring the provision of excellent, evidence based for all patients / clients.

To assist the Charge Nurse / Sister in ensuring the safe, effective and efficient management of all workforce and financial resources.

To act as a role model and skilled practitioner to inspire excellence.
