We are in search of a dedicated and experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Norfolk. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting and assisting teachers in the education of children with challenging behaviour, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Day to day of the role:
• Assist teachers in delivering high-quality education to students with SEMH needs.
• Help implement individual education plans for students.
• Employ various strategies to engage and motivate students.
• Aid in monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers and therapists, to provide comprehensive support.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with their emotional and mental health needs.
• Participate in regular professional development sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEMH students.
• A solid understanding of SEMH and effective behaviour management strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
• A commitment to supporting high-quality education for students with SEMH needs.
