About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Microsoft Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a Microsoft Windows Infrastructure Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-based systems, with a strong focus on administering Active Directory and key Microsoft servers and services such as SQL Server, Exchange Server, Remote Desktop Services, and Endpoint Configuration manager both on-prem and within Azure.
Additionally, having skills in Azure or AWS would be a plus.

There is also the opportunity, once past your probationary period, to join our on-call rota which includes a payment that is added to your base salary.

£45,000 - £55,000

Requirements

Main Accountabilities
 •  Manage and administer Windows-based systems, including servers, workstations, and related infrastructure.
 •  Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, in partnership with our hosting provider, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
 •  Design, implement, and maintain Active Directory services, including user and group management, permissions, and security policies.
 •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, configure, and manage Azure-based services, such as virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity management.
 •  Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular system maintenance to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
 •  Implement and maintain system backups, contribute to disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures.
 •  Ensure system and data security by implementing appropriate access controls, authentication mechanisms, and security patches.
 •  Respond to and resolve technical issues related to Windows systems, Active Directory, and Azure services.
 •  Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to plan, execute, and support IT infrastructure projects.
 •  Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Windows systems administration, Active Directory, Azure, and AWS.
 •  Provide support and administration of assets within AWS. This to include upgrading components as required to keep services supported and up to date.
 •  Provide support for the currently installed Application suites at Addison Lee.
 •  Design, plan and implement new application installations
 •  Support application lifecycles to ensure Addison Lee’s software suite remains in-support with timely upgrades and provide continual improvement to your area of expertise
 •  Ensure compliance is maintained with regular audits to ensure that license usage is correct
 •  Collaborate with internal teams, to propose new applications and implement any requested applications
 •  Collaborate with vendors and other 3rd-party support teams
 •  Provide general second-line support of Windows environments as part of the Operations Support team
 •  Evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
 •  Mentor Service desk team to provide better support of the installed application base.

Key Skills and Experience
 •  Understanding of the challenges of supporting a large 24/7 operation
 •  Expert knowledge of desktop and server operating system environments
 •  In-depth knowledge of AWS
 •  In depth knowledge of Application support, troubleshooting, and applications lifecycles
 •  Knowledge of Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Services and the provision of applications within full desktops as well as App-V implementations
 •  Knowledge of Amazon Web Services administration and support
 •  ITIL v3 Foundation certified and experience in ITIL aligned environments
 •  Knowledge of Microsoft Configuration Manager desired
 •  Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and meet deadlines
