Full Time Support Worker for PMLD School

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) children? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join an outstanding PMLD school in Brent.

About the School:

This PMLD school has been awarded an Ofsted outstanding rating for its commitment to providing high-quality education and care for children with severe learning difficulties. The school's nurturing environment encourages students to reach their full potential, ensuring they have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.

Responsibilities:

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support and assistance to PMLD children within the school setting. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting students with daily activities, including personal care, feeding, and mobility support.
Implementing and following individual education plans (IEPs) to support student's academic and social development.
Collaborating with teaching staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Supporting students during therapy sessions and extracurricular activities.
Monitoring and recording student's progress and reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence among students.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.Requirements:

 •  Previous experience working with PMLD children or individuals with severe learning difficulties is highly desirable.
 •  A genuine passion for working in the education sector and supporting children with complex needs.
 •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
 •  Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
 •  Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students.
 •  A compassionate and patient nature.
