Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Are you a dynamic and ambitious individual with a passion for precision and attention to detail? Our client is a renowned leader in delivering high-end homes and is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:
  1.  Cost Estimation and Analysis:
 •  Work closely with senior quantity surveyors to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for high-end bespoke apartment projects.
 •  Conduct comprehensive cost analysis and provide recommendations to ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.
  2.  Contract Administration:
 •  Assist in the preparation and administration of construction contracts.
 •  Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to contractual terms and conditions.
  3.  Budget Management:
 •  Monitor project budgets, identifying and addressing any potential cost overruns or deviations.
 •  Support in the development of budget forecasts and financial reports.
  4.  Quantity Takeoffs:
 •  Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs to support accurate material and labour estimates.
 •  Collaborate with project stakeholders to validate and refine quantity calculations.
  5.  Tendering and Procurement:
 •  Assist in the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documentation and analysis of contractor submissions.
 •  Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and services.

Qualifications and Requirements:
 •  Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
 •  Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on residential projects.
 •  Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimating, and quantity surveying principles.
 •  Proficient in relevant software and tools, including MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
 •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
