We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Chaplaincy Assistant. This unique role combines elements of domiciliary support work with chaplaincy administration to provide comprehensive assistance to our chaplaincy team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of empathy, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting individuals in both practical and spiritual aspects of their lives.

Responsibilities:

Domiciliary Support:
 •  Provide practical assistance and support to individuals within the community, including but not limited to elderly, disabled, or vulnerable individuals.
 •  Assist with activities of daily living such as personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
 •  Foster a supportive and caring environment, ensuring the well-being and comfort of those under your care.

Chaplaincy Administration:
 •  Manage administrative tasks within the chaplaincy environment, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and coordinating events and activities.
 •  Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and requests, both within the church community and from external parties.
 •  Assist with the organisation of worship services, including preparing materials, setting up equipment, and providing logistical support as needed.
 •  Update the website as and when required, including posting news, events, and other relevant details.

Spiritual Support:
 •  Offer emotional and spiritual support to individuals facing challenges or seeking guidance, respecting their beliefs and values.
 •  Facilitate pastoral care activities, such as visiting individuals in hospitals, care facilities, or their homes to provide companionship and encouragement.
 •  Collaborate with chaplains and clergy members to create a supportive and inclusive environment for spiritual growth and reflection.

Qualifications:

 •  Previous experience in domiciliary support work, caregiving, or similar roles preferred.
 •  Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
 •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
 •  Knowledge of administrative procedures and proficiency in basic computer applications.
 •  Sensitivity to diverse spiritual beliefs and a commitment to respecting the dignity and autonomy of all individuals.
 •  Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the community and chaplaincy activities.
 •  Autism Awareness Certification from Autism Cymru (available online)
