Bennett and Game are working with a reliable multi modal trading partner. The company is based in Basildon and are looking for a Business Development Manager to join the business and help grow and manage to exceed clients expectations within the freight industry.
Business Development Manager Responsibiltites
• Generate leads and cold call prospective customers to create a sales pipeline
• Selling of all freight products - Air/Sea/Road/Rail Freights (Sales of warehousing/fulfilment would be plus)
• Meet with clients face to face, over the phone and via online video conferences
• Build and develop relationships with clients
• Understand the needs of your clients and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet/exceed these
• Have a good understanding of the business's services and be able to advise others about them
Business Development Manager Position Requirements
• The successful candidate will ideally have a background of any of the following; Air, Sea, Road, Rail, Customs clearance, warehousing
• Must have an excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with clients and business associates
• Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients.
• Proven track record of developing new sales within defined business sectors across multiple transport type air/sea/road/rail and warehousing/fulfilment/customs clearance etc
• Track record of success in B2B and B2C new business sales
• Determination to meet new business targets
• Ability to research and appoint your own prospects
• Highly presentable and have excellent presentation skills
• The ability to solution sell and compose proposals and tenders
• Working knowledge of Excel would be an advantage
Business Development Manager Position Remuneration
We are open for salary negotiation between 35 - 50k + commission based on experience, current portfolio, closing success
Hybrid position - 1 or 2 days at office based on meeting schedules
• Pool car will be available for meetings or car allowance based on candidate
• Laptop and mobile phone provided
• Commission structure will be decided with candidate
