Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support for Families Social Worker to join our team. As a Support for Families Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and intervention services to families in need. This is a Grade 8 position, offering an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of families in our community.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, case management, and counseling services to families facing a variety of challenges. You will work closely with individuals, groups, and communities to help identify and address issues such as parenting difficulties, substance abuse, mental health concerns, domestic violence, and more.
With your expertise and guidance, families will be empowered to develop their own strengths, coping mechanisms, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of families to identify their needs and strengths
Develop individualized care plans based on assessments and collaborate with families to set goals
Provide counseling and support to families in crisis situations
Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote communication and skill-building among families
Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for families
Advocate for families and ensure their rights are protected and respected
Monitor and evaluate progress of families and adjust intervention plans as necessary
Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work or related field
Valid state licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW or LMSW)
Minimum of 3 years of experience providing social work services to families
Extensive knowledge of family systems, child development, and social work theory and practice
Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners
Knowledge of community resources and ability to make appropriate referrals
Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
Adherence to professional ethics and standards

Hours Per Week: 37.00

Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £29.45
Location: Cardiff, Cardiff County
