Job Title: Workshop Controller
Location: Chichester

Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Salary: £36,000 to £40,000 + Bonuses & Overtime

Responsibilities:

Supervision and Coordination: Oversee daily operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.

Staff Management: Coordinate activities of workshop technicians, assigning tasks and providing guidance to maintain productivity and quality standards.

Customer Interaction: Serve as primary contact for customers, providing updates on vehicle repairs and addressing inquiries or concerns professionally.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all workshop work meets manufacturer standards and complies with regulations and health & safety guidelines.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock to support workshop operations.
Performance Tracking: Track workshop performance metrics such as job completion times and customer satisfaction, implementing improvements as needed.
Training and Development: Identify training needs for workshop staff and coordinate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments, preparing reports, and maintaining records related to workshop activities.

Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing the workshop budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements:

Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within the automotive sector, preferably with supervisory or managerial experience.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive repair and maintenance procedures, with knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating and managing a team effectively.
Customer Service: Customer-focused approach with the ability to interact professionally and address customer needs and concerns.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in workshop operations.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer software and systems for scheduling, inventory management, and reporting.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in automotive engineering or related field are desirable, though practical experience is equally valuable.
