This is a unique opportunity to join our team of staff who manage the care of patients taking part in Clinical research studies. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic candidate with previous experience in Ophthalmology Clinical Research.
The successful candidate will Coordinate, support, and manage Ophthalmology research projects, as well as associated specialty projects that require Ophthalmology assistance.

The post holder will provide specialist research knowledge, expertise and research portfolio management, ensuring that studies are led safely, efficiently while meeting local and national performance targets.
 •  As part of our team of specialist staff, coordinate the whole study process, from patient identification, recruitment and treatments, to follow up care, for Clinical and commercial research studies.
 •  The day to day management of junior members of the team will also be expected, as well as forging links and structure to the wider Research community both within UHL, and outside of the Hospital with all levels in all departments to set up and deliver studies efficiently.
 •  Analyse data from human factors usability studies and clinician expert reviews and prepare formal written reports.
 •  Plan and Coordinate the effective and timely completion of all associated ethics and governance requirements.
 •  Arrange and facilitate collaborators meetings, ensuring follow up of actions and appropriate reporting / communication of such meetings.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
 •  high-quality care for all,
 •  being a great place to work,
 •  partnerships for impact, and
 •  research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
 •  we are compassionate,
 •  we are proud,
 •  we are inclusive, and
 •  we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
