We are recruiting for a domestic violence support worker to join a refuge based in Birmingham which offers support to women and children that have been affected by domestic violence
Our client is looking for someone who can provide a support service to women and children specifically around domestic violence, forced marriage, honour based violence and female genital mutilation on an individual basis, using a person centred approach.
The purpose of the role for the Domestic violence support worker is
• Support services users with all aspects of maintaining their tenancy
• Maintain confidentiality of all records and work with external agencies
• To give advice, guidance,support and information in respect to mental health , domestic abuse, managing finances, person safety and security
• Help to build confidence and self esteem
Our client is looking for someone who is empathetic, who understand the issues that relate to vulnerable children, young people and families. Communication skills are vital both written and verbal. You should have knowledge and understanding of issues relating to domestic violence services and support for children and familes
