Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Overview: Join a dynamic team of professionals in a renowned Neurological Service, catering to patients with acquired brain injuries, neurodegenerative conditions, and complex mental health needs. Referrals come from various sources including psychiatric hospitals, prisons, and the courts.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the administration of the Mental Health Act, Clinical Policy, and associated tasks for service users.
• Evaluate and enhance medical services through audits, ensuring adherence to research-based clinical policies and standards.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders to facilitate service users' transition back into the community.
• Chair ward Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
• Ensure the effective implementation of the Care Programme Approach.
• Assess referrals and ensure service alignment with patient needs.
• Contribute to staff training, education, and development across disciplines.
• Participate in Clinical Governance initiatives.
Requirements:
• Medical qualification with MRCPsych or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Innovative and decisive with the ability to drive corporate decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Proficiency in effecting professional and organizational change.
• Understanding of current psychiatry developments and mental health legislation.
• Previous consultant experience preferred.
• Previous management experience desirable.
