They are looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer on their site in Coventry, ideally from an aerospace background for an ongoing contract, minimum 6 months on a PAYE basis.
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting manufacturing operations to achieve zero defect goals. This hands-on position involves driving key projects aimed at eliminating defects and improving product quality.
You will be instrumental in project execution and day-to-day coordination at the manufacturing site, utilizing a comprehensive toolkit of quality improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities
Core zero defect engineering tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, and 8D to improve processes.
Review manufacturing process reviews and assessments.
Implement zero defect plans to eliminate defects and ensure high-quality production.
Problem resolution across the site, using advanced problem-solving tools to ensure robust product quality.
Lead quality improvement projects, including flawless launch initiatives and capacity verification processes.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Five years of experience in engineering and manufacturing quality processes, preferably in an aerospace environment.
Knowledge of problem-solving tools and techniques.
Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills
Degree in engineering or manufacturing disciplines (preferred).
PPAP, including FAI and knowledge of statistical techniques.
Aerospace industry standards and regulations.
Continuous improvement qualification (e.g., Six Sigma Green or Black Belt) is a plus.
Competencies
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams.
Decision-making capabilities and the ability to drive results under pressure.
Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time
