Principal Civil Structural Design Engineer

Our Client is one of the world's leading design consultancies within the Infrastructure and Environmental arena and they are looking to expand within the UK with an ambitious business plan.

This opportunity is to work from any of the offices within the UK (on a hybrid basis), on projects in UK and potentially Australia and New Zealand. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience you may not already have. It does as well provide the optional experience in travelling to different countries working on exciting projects and dealing with clients and colleagues from different environments.

This role is specialising in Water projects, so experience within the Water Sector is important. Wastewater experience will be an advantage.

Some of the responsibilities include:
 •  Managing the delivery of projects may act as discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team.
 •  Maintain client contact and ensure that project delivery meets the client's objectives and requirements.
 •  Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance within agreed timescales and budgets.
 •  Undertake project delivery tasks, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches and reports.
 •  Provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others.
 •  Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines.

Specific experience:
 •  Knowledge of design in common building materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
 •  Experience of working within a 3D design environment is essential and an ability to work to BIM protocols would be desirable.
 •  Application of Engineering principles
 •  Design Development
 •  Computer Aided Design and Modelling Packages such as Tekla.

Quals: * Honours degree in Structural Engineering or suitable equivalent degree

 •  Chartered Structural Engineer or near Chartership (IStructE).
