Platform Resourcing are currently working in partnership to find a Quality Engineer within a well-established engineering company based in Cwmbran.

The successful candidate will work closely with the management team and design team to improve upon existing processes, using data and findings to identify issues and propose solutions. You will need to be able to read and interpret technical drawings, having experience of carrying out welding quality inspection.
You will also be responsible for writing new welding specifications and procedures, addressing any non-conformances, and identifying and carrying out investigations into significant trends.

Salary of up to £40,000, negotiable dependant on level of experience

Using knowledge of welding processes, test methods, materials and standards to ensure that welding related activities comply with all quality and safety criteria.
Read and write welding specifications and procedures.
Completing pre-dispatch inspection of finished goods.
Monitor internal non-conformances, updating the register, carrying out nonconformance investigations and following-up on corrective actions.
Providing feedback for internal non-conformances, identifying and subsequently carrying out investigations into significant trends.
Analysis of data and findings, to then work closely with the design team to analyse these problems or discrepancies to find solutions.
Providing feedback on any perceived product or process improvements, relaying findings to management teams.
Monitoring change requests, ensuring relevant evidence is collated on submission, sending requests out for approval, following up on implementation actions and sending out regular updates.
Quality inspection of goods in.Essential Skills and Requirements

Years of experience within a similar Quality Engineer position
CSWIP/ HND/HNC/ NVQ Level 3/ C&G/ Degree Qualified in a Quality or Engineering discipline
Must have experience of Welding inspection
Able to read technical engineering drawings
IT literate, at least basic use of Microsoft Packages including Word, Outlook, Excel
Full UK driver's licenceDesirable

Experience of working within Automotive background or Plant machinery would be advantageousPrivacy and General Data Protection Policy
