Role Purpose To lead the development and delivery of the organisations nursing strategy, ensuring excellent standards of care are delivered across all services. To operate effectively as part of Vias multidisciplinary senior leadership team, role modelling collaborative, solution focused and innovative approaches to current, new and emerging challenges.
Key duties and activities of the role To provide expert, experienced, and dynamic nurse leadership across the organisation. To include guidance, advice, clinical decision-making and support to nurses, independent prescribers and to wider clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
To deliver strategic vision, clarity of purpose and clinically safe, cost-effective care as part of a broader multi-disciplinary clinical and operational leadership team. To demonstrate and deliver on our commitment to coproduction and service user engagement within this.
To take the lead on infection prevention and control. To support excellence against regulatory standards (e.g. care quality commission), delivering against the clinical governance agenda and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve excellent standards of care and outcomes.
To take accountability for the nurse workforce and to identify and deliver opportunities that establish Via as an employer of choice, where nurses want to train, develop and specialise. To work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on Vias strategic and business plans.
To ensure adherence with all Via policies and Safeguarding principles as well as ensuring service delivery meets CQC, NMC and RCN requirements and standards. To lead on the recruitment, selection, and development of nurses, ensuring line management and clinical supervision are in place, training and encouraging an inspirational and motivating learning environment for all staff.
To lead on and support relevant external strategic and service delivery partnerships and represent Via at external events, meetings and external influencing activity.
