Position Title: CAD Designer
Location: Aylesbury
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed product designs, manufacturing strategies, cost estimations, and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the technical team to comprehend customer requirements and devise solutions, leveraging existing products where applicable.
• Lead technical and sales initiatives, managing projects efficiently.
• Assist in quoting parts during peak periods or staff absences.
• Maintain accurate records within the company's engineering framework using the ERP system.
• Edit customer CAD files for quoting purposes.
• Proficiency in surfacing for press tool development is advantageous.
• Generate engineering drawings for internal and external use.
Required Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal skills with self-motivation and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to teamwork and independent tasks.
• Efficient organisation and workload management skills, balancing short-term projects and long-term goals.
• Adaptability to changing circumstances with a positive and flexible attitude.
• Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques is beneficial.
• Aptitude for enhancing efficiency and performance through innovative design and process optimization.
• Willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices within the organisation.
• Availability to participate in customer meetings to discuss requirements and capabilities.
Experience:
• 2-5+ years of experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
• Background in project management
