A hugely successful Global Infrastructure Consultancy actively needs an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major highways infrastructure projects in and around Cambridge, Sussex and Greater London
You can be home based, with the flexibility to meet in the regional offices and on Client sites when necessary or beneficial for all.
As part of the Highways Consultancy Team, you will oversee the construction of primary infrastructure on major schemes from the London, Cambridge or Guildford offices.
The teams are involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. They have an enviable reputation working with the UK’s largest Developers, Investment businesses, County Councils, Government Bodies, Local Authorities, residential developers and housebuilders.

All area’s require experienced Quantity Surveyors with a good background in Highway related projects and Client focussed site experience.
The successful candidates must have experience of Highways, Civil Engineering and be very competent with using the NEC form of contract. It is intended that the roles will offer the opportunity to progress your career as your experience grows within our business.

Responsibilities

To provide competent and professional quantity surveying expertise supporting Capital Programme Investment Delivery across several key projects.
The ideal candidates should have proven working knowledge and a background in infrastructure (highways, drainage, earthworks etc.). The candidates will be expected to undertake duties through the project lifecycle including feasibility, estimating, procurement and post contract delivery.

Liaise with all external and internal stakeholders to enable the projects to progress without delay

Lead the preparation and verification of pricing models from first principals, and obtain cost data from industry recognised publications e.g. SPONS & BCIS to price schemes
Lead the preparation of activity schedules, bills of quantities in accordance with methods of measurement, presentation of tender and contract documentation, attend interviews, carry out full tender analysis and comparisons through to preparing the recommendation report

Deliver professional and competent advice and support to ensure that the projects are managed in accordance with the contract and meet the required reporting deadlines
Manage a programme of current workload in order that all commissions receive the relevant allocation of resource to manage them efficiently commercially.
Assess contractor applications, along with any changes, make recommendations, raise payment certificates, and prepare general correspondence on behalf of the project managers
Liaise with the project managers to review and update the risk registers. Identify principal risks and opportunities, raise, address and resolve any problems and maintain a schedule of potential financial implications

Manage and report change control procedures within each specific contract and ensure that they are adhered to
Qualifications & Experience: Degree qualified in quantity surveying or other relevant business discipline.

Professional qualification and/or membership of the RICS or other relevant Chartered Institute would be an additional advantage (or working towards)
Expertise in administering high value, multi-disciplinary construction project work packages / contracts utilising forms of contract such as the NEC / ICC suites
Demonstrable track record in managing complex, high value and varied contracts
Comfortable communicating with all levels of Senior Management and Stakeholders
