The Company

Based in Anglesey, Halen Môn was founded in 1997 by David Lea-Wilson MBE and Alison Lea- Wilson MBE. Halen Môn is a highly successful family run B-Corp business with a global reputation for producing world class, award winning, highest quality sea salt, smoked water, condiments and food products.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a brand new, full-time, permanent position covering sales and marketing functions. You will be predominantly based on site at Halen Môn's state of the art premises overlooking the Menai Strait as well as visiting customers from time to time.

The successful applicant will work together with the Sales and Brand Directors to maintain and grow existing relationships as well as expand a strong and sustainable customer base across all sales channels. This is a senior role within the organisation with the potential for duties and responsibilities to expand in the future.

Duties will include:

Sales
 •  To nurture and grow relationships to maintain the existing customer base in ingredients, retail, food service, gifts, B2B, B2C and export, focusing mainly on the smoked water commercial plan
 •  New client development to expand the client base particularly in the ingredients channel
 •  Key performance criteria- to retain the top 20 customers and hold or improve the margin
 •  Together with the Sales and Brand Directors, establish a clear annual sales and marketing plan with volume and value targets, implement and evaluate
 •  Seek out and use opportunities in a friendly and collaborative way, establishing a rapport and closing sales
 •  Supervision and provide guidance to the Sales processor
 •  In the absence of the Sales Processor, take and process sales
 •  Work as a team with other office and retail staff
 •  Maintain and grow the bespoke CRMS

Marketing
 •  Spread the message that Halen Môn brings value to businesses that far outweighs the seasoning of a product or the pack on the shelf
 •  Establish detailed plans with appropriate key customers that demonstrate delivery of annual sales targets
 •  Grow and nurture brand ambassadors in all sectors, understanding our brand and brand values
 •  Be alert to all changes, especially competitor activity, that might adversely affect our sales plan and mitigate them
 •  Assist in the trade and consumer show programme as requested
 •  Liaise with external agencies as required

Requirements

The ideal applicant will have experience selling a product used as an ingredient within the food manufacturing sector although applicants who have previously represented a premium product selling to retail, food service and gifts are also encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will have the following skills experience attributes:

 •  Relevant sales, marketing or business qualification preferred but not essential
 •  Background in premium products, dealing with major accounts at a senior level
 •  A proven track record of business growth in multi-channel sales
 •  Excellent communicator, respectful and confident
 •  Able to write professional correspondence as well as communicate professionally face to face and on the telephone
 •  Self-starter and motivator
 •  A solid team player able to work collaboratively within the Halen Môn team as well as with external customers
 •  Organised with good planning skills
 •  Flexible to the needs of a dynamic marketplace without discounting, using more imaginative support.
 •  Knowing the right customers/market/sectors that fit the brand.
 •  Full driver's license and vehicle
 •  Excellent computer skills with experience on Excel and Sage
 •  Ability to speak Welsh (desirable)
