We are currently working with a global engineering and manufacturing business operating in the Oil, Gas and Renewables sectors. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in mechanical engineering and have experience of FEA.
The role responsibilities:
• Support Projects and new product engineering activity on engineered products used across a range of sectors
• Technically understand scope of equipment and services provided by the company
• Resolve engineering and technical design issues
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements concerning the design and application of equipment used on each project
• Act as the company engineering representative in Technical Design Reviews
• Ensure that technical queries from the client are answered accurately and in a timely manner
• To be the company technical representative with regards to applicable engineering specifications such as API, ASME, BS etc
• Ensure schedule is met for project deliverables within their scope
• Support the Supply chain department by advising on purchase order technical specifications
• Maintain excellent working knowledge and experience of 3D CAD systems including the ability to carry out detailed integrated design and guide other engineers in best practice
• Provide accurate drawings of Engineered products that can be provided to suppliers
• Provide calculations to verify that the agreed design meets the required client or international standards
• Engineering and technical support to internal and external customer base, ensuring customers are provided with excellent service.
• Resolution of engineering issues which occur
• Final technical approval for products
The person we’re looking for:
• Qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Strong experience of FEA
• Experience of Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Renewables industry
• Previous experience of working with teams in different sites
• Proven draughting/modelling experience is essential
• Previous experience of using a 3D Design package such as solidworks, Inventor or Creo
• Strong communication with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels
