Salary: c£80k basic plus competitive package
Company & Project: An award winning Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across multiple new build and refurbishment sectors including Education, MOD, Healthcare and Residential are seeking to recruit an experienced and commercially talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to complement their surveying team, joining a recent project win, a c£30m project.
Our client has a strong order book and especially in the local market across multiple sectors - offering a stable pipeline of Essex based work for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The senior management team is well respected and noted for it's communication skills and available career progression that they make clear to all employees. The business has a market leading staff retention rate in the local area and a busy pipeline of work for the remainder of 2024 onwards and into 2025.
Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to; measurement & valuations, applications for payment, reconciling accounts, dealing with sub-contract orders and enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts.
Experience working on 2-stage projects would be advantageous.
Desirable Experience:
Minimum 7-10 years+ experience as a QS working for a Main Contractor.
Stable career history with experience working on New Build projects.
Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors.
Previous Roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Quantity Surveyor OR Commercial Manager OR Senior Cost Manager.
Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification including HNC, BTEC, NVQ or MSc.
