Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers (DRIVER) to join our incredible team in Hindley, Wigan
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
This particular individual is looking for team members who are into a little bit of everything, he enjoys crafting, Baking, going out on road trips in his vehicle, gardening, Technology and his gadgets and so much more - he is a fanatic when it comes to the royal family and also has a deep passion for helping raise funds for the local veterans in his area.
Over the last year he has been on an incredible journey of self development, he has moved to a new home, developed his confidence and self esteem massively and he is keen to continue this journey.
When it comes to his ideal team member he feels most comfortable and confident when you are able to form a relationship with the rest of his team, team cohesion is vital as he has really good bonds with his current team.
He has bags of humour and on the flip side of this he can be quite shy but once he gets to know you. then you will see his personality shine through.
What we're looking for:
• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
This role requires you to be a driver.
Contract options:
• Full-time:37.5 hrs
• Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
Shift Pattern:
07:00-10:00 (follow on from sleep shift)
09:00 - 21:00 (day shift)
10:00 - 22:00 (sleep shift)
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
• All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
