Senior Group Reporting Accountant

Heyland Senior Finance are pleased to be partnering with one of the region's most respected and long-standing businesses; due to a distinct lack of staff attrition, opportunities don't come along very often. Working within their group function based in Runcorn they are seeking to recruit an experienced technical accountant to support the Group Reporting Manager. The role is focussed on providing consolidated external and internal financial reporting the group that is timely, accurate, adheres to accounting standards and fiscal regulations and meets the needs of external and internal stakeholders:

Key Accountabilities

To support the Group Reporting Manager with the co-ordination of the month end Group financial reporting processes for the businesses, ensuring that the results of all entities are understood and comply with Group reporting requirements.
To prepare the monthly financial statements workings file for review by the Group Reporting Manager and Head of Financial Controlling
To support the Group Reporting Manager with the consolidated year end accounts process. This includes ensuring all sites submit relevant data in accordance with the group year-end timetable, assistance in preparing the statutory accounts and being a key contact with the auditors.

To manage IFRS 16 lease accounting tool and be the main point of contact with the external consultants. Provide monthly lease journal inputs to all local finance teams and advise the local finance teams on IFRS 16 lease accounting queries and issues.

To produce consolidated working capital performance reports covering stock, debtors and creditors for the group, and analyse the data for anomalies and areas of concern.
To prepare the annual statutory accounts and lead the audit process for group's special purpose securitisation vehicleSkills and experience

Qualified accountant with two years post qualification experience
Broad experience of financial reporting, ideally within a multi-currency, multi-business legal entity environment
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
In depth knowledge of financial processes and accounting systems is preferred
Strong influencing skills with the ability to interact with local finance teams and other group support functions across all sites
Ability to demonstrate high levels of accuracy with all work produced
Provide clear and regular guidance to finance teams to ensure high standards across all reporting units
Ability to think analytically and look to constantly improve the reporting proceduresSenior Group Reporting Accountant
