MET Technician
Strip and Fit/Mechanical department are responsible for the stripping out and re-fitting of all parts required to carry out repairs to damaged vehicles. All stripping must be carried out as per job card, or other instruction from the Workshop Controller.

Responsibilities:
• Stripping vehicle for repair
• Stripping vehicles as per job card
• Checking new parts list whilst stripping
• Reading methods when unsure of the correct procedure
• Reporting extra parts needed to Workshop Controller/Estimator
• Complete check sheet at each stage
• Air-con re-gas trained persons only
• Geometry trained persons only
• Light alignment
• Fitting vehicles after repair
• Checking locks, lights, electrics as per quality check sheet
• Report to Workshop Controller if warning lights on
• Cleaning up work/storage area, and making sure that plant and equipment is working correctly, any faults found, immediately inform management of findings
• Liaising with other departments
• Report any problems to Workshop Controller
