Are you an expert in network engineering looking for a challenging role? We are currently working with our client as they revolutionise broadband experiences for their customers. They are currently seeking a skilled Principal Network Engineer to lead on their network design, integration, and maintenance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design and Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, high-performance network architecture. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and define network requirements.
Network Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of networking equipment. Conduct regular assessments for optimization opportunities.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide advanced technical support for complex network issues. Conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement preventative measures.
Subject Matter Expertise and Technical Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on network engineering best practices. Mentor team members to foster a culture of continuous learning.
Technical Strategy and Product Selection: Shape the technical strategy of the network infrastructure. Collaborate in the selection of equipment vendors and product evaluation.
Security and Compliance: Design and implement advanced security practices. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to network security.
Capacity Planning: Forecast network growth and strategically plan for capacity expansion. Implement strategies to optimize network performance and resource utilization.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering.

Must have a background working within an Internet Service Provider (ISP) (preferably within an altnet)
Relevant certifications are a strong plus.
Proficiency in routing and switching protocols.
Strong knowledge of network security principles.
Ability to design scalable and resilient network architectures.
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Knowledge of scripting languages for automation.
Expertise in configuring and managing networking equipment from specific vendors.
