Location: Portsmouth Naval Base, Sea Cadets Stores, PO1 3NT
Contract: 35hrs per week - Permanent
Salary: £26,000 gross per annum

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society.
Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

We are currently looking for a Logistics Operative capable of embracing a broad-spectrum of responsibilities, primarily related to the administrative management of all MSSC and Ministry of Defence (MoD) Motor Transport (MT) used by MSSC employees and Volunteers, and secondly to support our warehouse team in the administration and practical output of MoD stock to our Sea Cadet units throughout the UK.

Responsibilities
 •  Ensure correct procedures for acquisition and disposal of vehicles and equipment are adhered to.
 •  Produce and provide cost data to users of all vehicles as required, within specified limits.
 •  Ensure the MT is operated in accordance with MoD Road Transport Policy and other relevant regulations.
 •  Support the Logistics & Trading Team in extraneous warehouse work as required.

Requirements
 •  To successfully undergo MoD security clearance to SC level.
 •  To be trained to MoD Transport standards for management of transport.

Desirable
 •  Experience of working in the MoD IT environment.
 •  Experience of working in the Cadet Forces as an adult.
 •  Experience of managing transport for an organisation.
 •  Experience of working within budgets.
 •  Warehouse administrative and practical experience.
