Provide day to day management of the clinic. This will include safeguarding, health and safety, ordering, appraisals / training, patient group directions and signing off Health Roster / allocated administration time. To independently initiate, diagnose, treat and/or review patients, for a number of STIs and/or genital conditions and contraception.
To organise and develop case work in relation to Health Adviser/Clinical Nurse Specialist in GU including patient education, prevention of infection, partner notification and relevant ongoing support Provide clinical advice and support to all nurses/nurse practitioners in the speciality Provide specialist clinical and professional advice as the speciality evolves, develops and changes within the specialist group Assist in the development of clinical policies and protocols for the speciality Provide specialist advice and information regarding a full range of contraception and STI/genital conditions Provide brief interventions (smoking, substance misuse, etc) in consultations Assessment and referral of patients with safeguarding issues Provide HIV prevention, diagnosis, support and ongoing care for HIV patients To utilise excellent planning and organisational skills when planning service delivery, planning staff cover of an appropriate skill mix and comparing a range of options for safe service delivery Overseeing the organisations as well as teams objectives when planning and implementing programmes of care and service delivery Ensuring that the service delivers its core specification within allocated resources, including the establishment and review of booked procedure and walk in clinics.

Ensure the provision of effective management, supervision, appraisal and support to staff by promoting a culture of continuous learning and development. Review workforce planning with the other Advanced Nurse Practitioners within the Service, and be responsible for the recruitment and selection of nursing staff Ensure a high standard of record keeping is achieved in line with CDDFT and professional standards including activity and service monitoring data collection To teach and assess a range of medical and nursing clinical staff and their competency in clinical skills and assess their knowledge and its application.
Provide line management support (including annual appraisal) to an agreed number of staff The post holder may be required to undertake other duties within the commensurate with the grade and experience.
