Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for experienced cost engineer to be engaged on a permanent basis.

The role

As a Cost Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will help to improve the accuracy and visibility of lifecycle reporting for the business and its stakeholders.

You will work closely with the project team, embedding themselves and helping to estimate target and fixed price contracts.

Develop/implement and maintain the Project Baseline Budgets including Control Account Plans/Responsibility Assignment Matrix and WBS Dictionary (SOW).
Responsible for the monitor, control and validation of project's accruals and commitments and the control of resource and financial forecast data.
Management and control of financial change management on the project and assurance of alignment with the business/contractual requirements.
Provision of internal and external financial performance & cost reports including earned value and variation analysis.

Essential experience of the Cost Engineer:

Significant experience of applying budgeting & cost control in a regulated industry environment
Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. NEC3 and NEC4) including resolution of claims and disputes
Previous experience of supporting more junior team members in a cost estimating, cost engineering or project controls environment

Proficient user of MS packages, namely Excel
Qualifications for the Cost Engineer:

HNC level qualification (or equivalent) in cost engineering or quantity surveying
Ideally a bachelor's degree in engineering / project / construction management or a related field
ECITB QCF Level 5 Diploma (or equivalent) in Cost Engineering (Cost Control)
A professional qualification and membership (e.g. APM/AcostE/RICS) (or equivalent)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
