Sustainability Manager

We are recruiting for Sustainability Manager to work for our client a large Facilities Management company, with the site location being based in Salisbury.
Reporting directly to the Head of Sustainability, this pivotal role involves supporting our operations with expert guidance and solutions to ensure minimal environmental impact. You will bring your skills to the role helping to strive for sustainability excellence, you will monitor and advise on all activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and environmental procedures.

As a key member of the team, you'll take the lead on sustainability and contribute to the development and upkeep of our ISO 14001 Environmental management system and identify and execute energy and sustainability opportunities. Your responsibilities will encompass managing environmental considerations with cost and community welfare in mind, ensuring positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

Your technical expertise will shine as you provide support on sustainable solutions and environmental issues, respond to environmental incidents, conduct investigations, and produce comprehensive reports. You'll also oversee audits and inspections to verify compliance and drive continuous improvement.

In addition to these responsibilities, you'll play a crucial role in analyzing and producing sustainability-related performance data and reports. Communication is key, as you'll develop and deliver sustainability-themed training and awareness programs, engage with stakeholders, and attend operational meetings to manage expectations and ensure contractual requirements are met.

What You Need To Succeed:

Previous experience in a sustainability or environmental role within the FM sector.
Proven track record of delivering sustainable solutions and initiatives, along with energy management and data analysis skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of environmental legislation and management systems, with expertise in sustainable construction, energy management, ecology and conservation, waste management, contaminated land, and sustainable procurement.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent presentation, data analysis, and report writing abilities.
A degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management (IEMA) and certification as an Environmental Auditor.
