A fantastic and supportive Primary school based in Hampstead Garden Suburb, N2, are in need of an experienced SEND teaching assistant to join them ASAP and provide 1:1 support for An autistic Key Stage 1 Pupil.
Job Description
The ideal Special Needs teaching assistant will have previous experience working with ASD pupils – knowledge of PECS or Makaton are also highly desirable but not essential. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will also be required to implement specific teaching programmes as instructed by a speech and language therapist and occupational therapist.
The successful SEN teaching assistant will also be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of the pupil into the mainstream school. Ideally, you will have a calm nature, as well as a proactive and nurturing attitude. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this role you will need:
Experience with ASD
Previous experience working within Key Stage 1
PECS and Makaton - not essential but highly desirable.

o Eligibility to work in the UK
