Qualified Social Work, Looked After Children (LAC) Team Manager

The London Borough of Croydon is seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join us as a Looked After Children (LAC) Team Manager. Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the provision of excellent services to looked after children and their families.
Oversee the effective delivery of statutory assessments, care planning, and interventions for children in care, promoting their well-being, development, and stability.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including foster carers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies, to coordinate holistic support and achieve positive outcomes for children.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, maintaining high standards of safeguarding and promoting the rights and voices of children.
Provide supervision, guidance, and support to team members, promoting their professional development and well-being.
Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and performance targets, contributing to strategic planning and service improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate and timely case records, reports, and documentation in accordance with professional standards and statutory requirements.

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with current registration (SWE) and a recognized professional qualification. - ESSENTIAL

Extensive experience in a social work role, including substantial experience in working with looked after children and young people.
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver high-quality services.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to looked after children and child protection.
