Experienced Shunter (The shunt vehicle is a standard tractor unit)
The role consists of shunting 5 class 2 vehicles onto bays to get loaded and the movement of a couple of class 1 vehicles for the stock to be transhipped off.
Stock has to be scanned on to vehicles so experience using Microlise/ Vita would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate would need to be computer literate and be able to work on their own initiative and make decisions. They would also need to be a great communicator, both written and speaking, as you will be dealing with customers, drivers, warehouse staff and management.
Once vehicles are loaded, you would then make sure drivers are given keys and paperwork before going out on their runs.
You will need:
• HGV Class 1 Driving Licence - Min 12 months experience
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Cards.
• You must be over 25 years of age and have a minimum of 12 months continuous Class 1 driving experience. This criteria is a must for insurance purposes.
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
