Our client, an exciting business in the entertainment industry, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their UK Legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and passionate environment, supporting a wide range of areas within the business.
The successful candidate will have the chance to work alongside senior members of the team, providing support across commercial negotiations, rights acquisitions, and group matters. This role is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, exceptional organisational skills and a passion for music.

Reporting to the Director of Legal & Business Affairs, key responsibilities will include:

 •  Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts relating to partner labels, producer, artist and broader industry-related agreements.
 •  Provide support in respect of rights acquisitions, copyright, licensing, and service deals.
 •  Address internal queries on contractual terms and rights.
 •  Work closely with various internal departments to answer queries and communicate deal terms.
 •  Maintain the company’s rights management system.
 •  Stay updated on relevant laws and trends impacting recording contracts.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

 •  Minimum two years of experience working in the legal department at a media or entertainment company (e.g. music, TV, film, advertising) or the media / entertainment department of a law firm.
 •  Law degree (LPC preferable).
 •  Strong experience in connection with the drafting and negotiation of a broad range of commercial contracts.
 •  Sound understanding of intellectual property law (e.g. copyright and performers’ rights).
 •  Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and problem solve.
 •  A team-player with a positive attitude towards your work, and an enthusiasm for the music industry.
