Hospital Chef (NHS)
I am currently recruiting for experienced Chef to provide a high-quality catering services to staff patients and visitor you will be part of a well-established team preparing quality freshly cooked food liaising daily with senior supervisor and managers to ensure a first class catering service is provided to all patients staff and visitors you will be working 5 days out of 7 including some weekends and Bank Holidays

Proposed start date: ASAP
Pay Rates: Up to£14 per hour PAYE inclusive of holidaypay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Day and Hours: Work 5 days across Mon-Sunday working shifts between 6.30am and 6pm

Duties will include but not limited to the following:
• Prepare, cook and serve conventional meals in accordance with specified recipes and methods.
• Check meals for quality, texture, taste and appearance, notifying and correcting problems as appropriate.
• Ensuring that correct hygiene working methods are observed at all times with particular attention to the separation of raw and cooked foods.
• Ensuring food delivered and received meet with the Department’s policy on standards and quality, by undertaking physical checks and temperature probing of all appropriate foodstuffs.
• Ensuring that relevant paperwork is completed timeously, for example HACCP fridge/freezer temperatures.
• Ensuring work patterns and production schedules are observed and that pre chilling times are kept within the laid down limits, notifying the manager where deviations to accepted limits are experienced.
• Maintain high standards of personal care at all times.
• Assisting in the development of quality standards.
• Working in a clean tidy manner "cleaning as you go".
• Assisting with the cleaning of premises and equipment, using the dishwasher where appropriate.
• Adhering to the colour coding policies.
• Serving on the dining room service counter as required.
• Assisting with the supervision and direction of catering assistants.
• Ensuring correct, economical and safe use of materials and equipment.
• Ensuring equipment is kept clean and in good working order, inspecting it on a regular basis.
• Reporting mechanical and other defects to management timeously.
• Wear the uniform provided and personal protective equipment as specified.
• Carry out such other duties as may be required, which fall within the grading of this post.
