Role Summary:

Our client, a leading company in the automotive industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance Specialist to join their team based in Crewe. As the Data Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and proper management of our client's data assets.
Your expertise in data governance principles and best practises will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining effective data governance policies and processes.

Responsibilities:

 •  Accountable for the creation and continual improvement of data governance policies and processes.
 •  Implement and maintain data governance across our client's organisation, ensuring governed access to accurate and authoritative "single source of truth" data sets.
 •  Safeguard data quality and Master Data Management, fostering a data-driven and trustworthy environment.
 •  Define responsibilities for Data Stewards and ensure their effectiveness in the role.
 •  Coordinate the data lifecycle process, including archiving and retention policies.
 •  Run an effective Data Council as the key cross-functional decision-making and steering forum for all data governance topics.
 •  Collaborate with CDO, CISO, and DPO to ensure alignment on data governance and security principles.
 •  Serve as the Local Master Data Manager, responsible for the overall master data strategy and roadmap.
 •  Advance master data harmonisation and the implementation of the master data strategy.
 •  Create comprehensive methods, procedures, and guidelines for master data governance.
 •  Implement and maintain a data catalogue tool.
 •  Provide data governance education and training to the Bentley data community.
 •  Engage with functional data champions/leaders/advocates to support their strategies.
 •  Collaborate with external experts and the Group data office.

Requirements:

 •  Extensive demonstrable experience in data governance, master data management, and data cataloguing processes.
 •  Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
 •  Experience with Modern Data Stack/architecture and cutting-edge tools.
 •  Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
 •  Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
 •  Experience coaching others in data governance and related skills.
 •  Recognised qualification in data governance/Master Data Management or equivalent experience.
 •  Degree in Data Science or a related discipline.
