Services include residential care homes, supported living, community services, adult learning and leisure opportunities, short breaks and children’s and young people's services.
We are recruiting a Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to develop and deliver a programme of strong and bespoke funding applications to Trusts and Foundations that match Watford Mencap’s activities.

What does this Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser job involve?
Hours of Work: 20 Hours Per Week - Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00
• To work with the Fundraising Manager and senior management team to identify activities to be funded
• To identify, develop and maintain a list of supportive trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies, implementing a rolling programme of applications in order to achieve the annual budget
• Build and maintain positive external relationships to maximise income and provide excellent donor care.
• Writing applications and developing case studies to successfully win grants and funding according to Watford Mencap’s funding needs.
• Identifying grant and trust opportunities and working with colleagues to collate information to enable more funding.
• Maintain the Customer Relationship Management database (Salesforce) with all relevant supporter information, applying knowledge of data protection regulations
• Contribute to the communications and social media strategy including donor acknowledgments and celebrating collaborations on new services or activities.
• Work alongside the wider Fundraising team to support major initiatives and activities.
Am I the right person for this Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser job?
• You must be a car driver and have access to a car for work.
• You must be a confident and strong communicator, including presentation, research and report writing skills.
• You have excellent organisational and project management skills to manage a complex workload and meet deadlines.
• You have a proven track record of generating significant income through strong Trusts and Foundations applications and you are a competent bid writer with good IT and numeracy skills.
• You are a confident, self-starter, with a flexible, ‘can do’ approach and
• Have knowledge of the voluntary sector and specific knowledge of charitable trusts and foundations and sources of current funding within the learning disability and social care sector.
