Our dedicated engineering, production and in-service support facilities are integral to delivering a high-end quality product that we keep flying throughout the life of programme.
We are fully supported by a wide team of support functions, from HR to Finance, to Business Development and Planning and Logistics, our team is built to give Safran Seats an end-to-end capability in house in the UK.

Job Description
 •  Plan and manage own workload and a limited number of others stress activities for a specific program
 •  Technically support junior stress engineers to ensure tasks are completed to requirements of time, cost and quality
 •  Assist with identifying certification test failure risk, an ensure it is managed effectively and minimised with the use of appropriate analytical methods and judgement
 •  Prepare, review and approve hand calculations, linear static, non-linear, crash, multi-body dynamic assessment would be favourable and optimisation FE models for seating products to support the design and certification process, plus the in-service life of the product
 •  Prepare, review and approve stress and structural documentation to submit for internal/external customers and regulatory approval
 •  Review and approve drawings, designs, concessions and repairs with respect to stress
 •  Support the Design team in ensuring that products meet regulatory, cost and weight targets
 •  Identify structural design issues and recommend improvements and alternate solutions
 •  Supporting root cause analysis (e.g. 8D/Ishikawa)
 •  Assist in producing plans of tasks and resource to Programme Team for stress activities
 •  Liaise with Design, Certification, Manufacturing and other company departments as required
 •  Liaise with external suppliers, customers, airframers, regulatory bodies and other industrial organisations as required
 •  Provide expertise and lead continuous improvement initiatives of department processes, methods and manuals

The Successful Applicant
 •  Minimum - 2:1 Bachelors (Honours) degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering.
 •  Experience of working to industry standards and codes. Knowledge of Part 25 (EASA/FAA) and Boeing / Airbus specifications. Knowledge of ACs, ARPs and Aerospace Standards. Knowledge of Aerospace Material Standards and Material or component test standards and post-processing methods (e.g. ASTMs and B-Basis calculations)
 •  Organisational and planning skills with ability to self-plan and manage the technical work, meet deadlines and work effectively with different functions and levels of responsibility.
 •  Prepare written communications and presentations to support the programme team and stress department activities.
 •  Assist in the preparation of task and resource plans.

 •  You are expected to address and report any irregularities with regard to the program and project management reference system
 •  You are also expected to make recommendations to ensure continuous process improvement and the deployment of best practices
 •  You do not have any decision-making authority regarding programs, projects or business lines and you cannot stand in for managers.
 •  In other words, management, planning, resource allocation, communication of leadtimes, financial data, risks and opportunities remain the sole responsibility of managers
