Job Title: Sales Manager (Logistics)
Location: Burton upon Trent
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Commission & Car Hours: Monday-Friday (08:00-17:00)
Reporting to: Commercial Director
Job summary:
As a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and fostering strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
Major duties & responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Commercial Director to develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the logistics industry, including but not limited to warehousing, transportation, and distribution services
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction and retention
Stay ahead of market developments, competitor activities, and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats
Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to management for informed decision-making
Work as part of the sales team to achieve targets and exceed expectations, provide guidance, coaching and support where needed
Negotiate favourable terms and agreements with clients, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives#Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of customer onboarding, sales initiatives and projectsProfile:
Experience and knowledge of the logistics industry is essential
Ability to commute and visit customers/other sites where needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills are key to this role
Good presentational and customer service skills with alogical approach to problem solving
Strong excel and computer skillsTechnical competencies:
Previous sales experience in logistics is essential
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel & Word
Adaptable IT skills
Good attention to detail is essentialBehavioural competencies:
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational skills
Encourages innovation and progressive behaviour in the workplace
