Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a dedicated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Administrator to work a 12-month contract with one of our Aerospace and Defence client based in Filton.
Location: Filton, Bristol
Contract: 12 months – likelihood of extension
Rate: £15.88
About the Role:
As a Health and Safety Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols within our operational laboratories and test facilities. You'll support a large and growing team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of our Test Centre and Laboratories.
• Training and Education: Conduct regular awareness sessions to educate staff on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices, supporting a diverse team of engineers and technicians.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards in the workplace through regular risk assessments, ensuring safety in structural materials testing for aerospace applications.
• Safety Inspections: Perform routine workplace inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, supporting the efficient and safe operation of our team.
• Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, or near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Safety Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in the aerospace sector.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, supporting the safety and security of our team in all situations.
• Safety Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all health and safety inquiries, providing guidance and support to staff members, fostering a culture of safety.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Relevant Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Proven experience in health and safety administration, preferably within a laboratory or testing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards in the aerospace industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support a diverse team.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills for thorough risk assessments and investigations.
• Certification in First Aid/CPR and experience with emergency response planning is desirable.
Tasks & Job Duties:
• Develop digital solutions for efficient administration and consistent application of health and safety processes.
• Manage COSHH compliance, including audit and quarantine procedures.
• Conduct audits and updates of safety files and risk assessments.
• Monitor performance of lifting equipment and support new equipment assessments.
• Organize workplace inspections and maintain training records.
