Night Support Worker
Sutton Valence | www.cv-library.co.uk |
Our home is situated on the outskirts of Maidstone, and it has an extensive and beautiful garden maintained by one of the residents.
We are looking for a part-time waking night support worker to cover 2 shifts a week, these being every Sunday and Monday. The start and finish times are 9:45pm to 7:45am
We support and promote the rights of five individuals with enduring mental health conditions, autism and varying degrees of learning disabilities to become integrated back into society after long periods of hospitalisation.
We use a person-centred approach and aim to support each person at their own pace and at their own level of need in a holistic, caring and respectful manner.
Following full induction, as a Night Support Worker you will work alongside one other waking staff member. Together, your duties will include attending to tenant needs should they wake during the night, keeping a clean and tidy home and some record keeping.
Whilst true that the Night Support Worker role has less interactions with the tenants you will be given the same high level of training as any other employee so to ensure you have the right set of skills and experiences to make a success of the role.
We have our own professional outreach team comprised of psychologists, nursing and psychiatrists who assist us in delivering the highest quality of care, which helps and enhances our residents quality of life whilst supporting and maintaining their mental health.
Qualification and Experience required for the Night Support Worker role
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in caring for others. Past experience is not necessary. We can train you and we offer career choices as you develop. However, it would be of some benefit if you have either professional or personal experience of delivering care.
Ideally that experience would be with children or adults who have learning difficulties.
If you don't have a Care Certificate we will organise certification during your induction.
Other requirements of the Care Worker are very simple:
Good standard of written English
Basic numeracy skills
Drive and enthusiasm
Why join our team as a Night Support Worker
Clear career and personal development pathway (including employer funded professional study)
Employer pension contribution scheme
Private healthcare
Full health and wellbeing support
Great company recognition programme (including longevity awards, KUDOS, Employee of the Month, FREE staff lottery, CareFriends recognition bonus payments)
Comprehensive induction
Employee referral scheme
Free meals / fruit on shift
DBS check - we cover the cost of your DBS check
Access to many other benefits: Blue Light Card; Concerts for Carers; Discounts for Carers +
Most importantly, you will be valued for the work you do, and we highly regard a good work and home-life balance.
Recruiting Process
We manage a rigorous, fair recruitment process and all successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced disclosure as we undertake criminal record checks
