Fulltime (37.5 hours)

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled occupational therapist to join the Musculoskeletal Occupational Therapy Upper Limb Out-patient Team at Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, predominantly at Broadgreen Hospital.

The rotation is within a specialist Upper Limb team. The focus is on the restoration of function post orthopaedic trauma, elective hand surgery and facilitation of successful adaptation when living with a long-term upper limb condition.

It’s an exciting time to join the therapy team following the Trust merger in 2019, and as such we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic occupational therapist with experience in upper limb orthopaedics and/or rheumatology.

In return there is a structured supervision and appraisal process as well as a strong commitment to continued learning and staff well-being. We are proud to be an integral part of the wider MDT and work closely with consultant teams, physiotherapists and specialist nurses.

Competency in splint fabrication, as well as skills in the assessment and management of hand/rheumatic conditions, is essential for this post. Clinical support and supervision will be available from experienced senior clinicians.

We wish to recruit an experienced clinician who has a clear understanding of the developing role of Occupational Therapy within Upper Limb Out-patient services and the ability to support leadership of a team which delivers innovative, responsive services to meet both the needs of patients and the organisation.
The post holder will have clinical experience working with adults with Upper Limb presentations.

The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an effective member of the wider team as well as with other external agencies. You will be required to participate or lead on service review in order to identify service development needs and support the band 7 in delivering this while meeting clinical service demands

Our trust has great ambition to carry out research and innovation to enable us to provide great care by great people.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

It’s an exciting time to join the therapy team following the Trust merger in 2019, and as such we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic occupational therapist with experience in upper limb orthopaedics and/or rheumatology. It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
