Position: 1:1 Support Worker

Our school is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As a 1:1 Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping a specific student with complex needs achieve their goals and foster their overall development.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the student, their parents/guardians, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized learning plans to address the student's individual needs.
Provide one-on-one support to the student throughout the school day, both inside the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
Assist the student in their academic pursuits, social interactions, and emotional regulation, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to adapt learning materials and techniques to suit the student's learning style and abilities.
Monitor the student's progress and record observations to track their development and communicate updates to the relevant stakeholders.
Handle any challenges that may arise, such as behavioral difficulties or medical concerns, in a calm and professional manner.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the school, encouraging the student's participation in group activities and promoting their social integration.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably working with students with complex needs or special educational needs.
Knowledge and understanding of different learning styles, behavioral management strategies, and communication techniques.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with special needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
Ability to adapt and think creatively to address the unique challenges presented by the student's complex needs.
