Role: CNC Operator
Type: Permanent, full time
Hours: Mon- Fri, 8.00am - 5.30pm
Salary: £30,000 -£40,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Calmore, Southampton.
About: Parkside recruitment are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join a dynamic company based in Hampshire.
Our clients sources, designs, and fits lightweight stone products.
Role: As an CNC Operator you will be responsible for operating a range of CNC equipment to produce high-quality stonework.
Duties: Operate 5-axis Stone CNC machining centres & 3-axis Waterjet CNC machining centres
• Programming and interpretation of drawings
• Creation of CNC drawings
• Machine & plant maintenance
• Tool stocking & checking of tools
• Daily pre-operation checks on specific machines
• Quality control & checking of manufactured products
• Design for Manufacture (DFM) thinking and analysis
• Problem-solving
• Assist with general shop floor housekeeping and maintenance
• Collaboration with team members to ensure efficient workflow
• General Health & safety awareness and compliance with all H&S policies and procedures
Candidate Requirements:
• Education in an engineering background
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ideally experience working with CAD and thinking in 3D
• Understanding of construction/masonry drawings
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
• Basic understanding of CNC operation
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Time management and organisational skills with good attention to detail
• A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to self-manage
• Sense of ownership and pride in performance
• Willingness to learn and positive problem-solving attitude
