Wanted – Quality Compliance Manager – Yorkshire – Building / Construction

Ideal opportunity for an already experienced Compliance Manager or a Compliance Advisor ready for promotion.

COMPANY:

We are recruiting for a Compliance Manager to join a reputable construction main contractor, role will be a mix of Leeds office, with some remote work, as well as flexibility to visits sites across midlands and north regions.

ROLE:

As Quality Compliance Manager your role will include:

On behalf of the Technical, Quality and Compliance Department, develop, control and evolve to suit the needs of the business now and in the future.

Provides a quality integrated management system (IMS). Formalise and standardise the systems, document processes and procedures, and emphasise responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives.

Quality Compliance Managers are the representatives acting on behalf of the company to assess the procedural requirements for quality assurance matters. They establish, monitor and are responsible for the IMS within the business.

DUTIES:

Key Accountabilities:

All employees are expected to understand their responsibilities and carry out their role in line with the Company Management System, i.e. complying with our policies, procedures, processes and tools. In addition to enabling successful project delivery, this ensures that all roles are carried out in line with our ISO Accreditations (as listed below), against which you will be periodically audited against.

ISO 9001 Quality Management System

ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System

ISO 14001 Environmental Management Syste

Technical, Quality, Compliance:

 •  Work with departments and regional teams to develop plans, processes, policies and documents that will allow compliance with our obligations ie. Industry certification standards, Building safety, Health & Safety Executive, Environmental Regulators, Financial and Data Protection etc.
 •  Developing our approach to design processes and building information and records (Golden Thread, O&M’s Building Safety Case etc).
 •  Implement and ensure compliance to documented control processes.
 •  Manage the review, update and implementation of policies and other management system documents.
 •  Develop and support technical supply chain and set and control standards.
 •  Design, develop, manage and maintain the content of the company integrated management system, in conjunction with senior management.
 •  Develop and support ISO, processes and systems, help maintain relevant certificates (phone number removed) and others as necessary.
 •  Develop and support the company approach, processes and compliance to environmental & sustainability legislation, standards and best practice.
 •  Develop, support and update process maps, quality plans and records to align with new standards and regulatory compliance (i.e. BSA).
 •  Help to maintain the company’s third party accreditation i.e. Construction Line Silver, Smart Waste etc certification by ensuring the system platform is updated as and when required.
 •  Design, develop, manage and maintain the content of the company integrated management system, in conjunction with senior management.
 •  Manage and maintain the content of the company integrated management system (IMS), to provide assistance and advice to site managers and department managers on its implementation.
 •  Support continued certification to ISO accreditations through internal audit and external audits.

Manage the audit programme and communicate to company management;
 •  Develop and undertake preventative internal 1st party audits on a regular basis, ensuring non-conformance and observations are reported and acted upon.
 •  Representing the company at client audits (2nd party audits).
 •  Prepare the team and represent the company at external audits by certification bodies (3rd party audits).
 •  Manage the relationship with the external auditor.
 •  Administering an audit programme of suppliers and subcontractors (Supplier audits).
 •  Identifying good practices observed during audit.
 •  Support teams in the close out of internal/external audit findings, using root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement.
 •  Contributing to the Quality Forum for sharing best practices throughout the group

People Management:

 •  Develop relationships at all levels in order to achieve the key accountabilities.
 •  Work with Department Leads and Auditors.
 •  Communicate and raise awareness of the company management systems, ISO standards and need for compliance across the company.
 •  Coach/mentor employees where required.

Reporting:

 •  Provide monthly IMS updates to the Technical and Compliance Director for inclusion in the

Board Pack report.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and implement improvements to company management systems, including but

not limited to:

 •  Aligning policies and procedures across the company eliminating duplication and redundancies.
 •  Root cause analysis based on audit findings.
 •  Implement data capture and analysis as required supporting achievement of the key accountabilities
 •  Share best practice and promote continuous improvement and innovation.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this Quality Compliance Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

 •  Previous employment in a Compliance Manager, Quality Manager or similar role.
 •  Knowledge of Building / Residential Sector / Construction Industry or Civil Engineering.
 •  Internal Auditor Certification.
 •  Proven experience in a Systems Compliance or Quality Control role.
 •  Ideally NVQ level 5 or above in appropriate discipline.
 •  Proven experience in systems compliance/quality control role Takes initiative, acts with -confidence and works under own direction.
 •  Identifies improvement opportunities for the organisation.
