£60,000 - £75,000/annum Dependent on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in railway maintenance and a proven track record in managing measured term contracts?
Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor specializing in railway maintenance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of measured term contracts, providing accurate cost assessments, and delivering cost-effective solutions within the specified timeframes.
Your expertise will contribute significantly to the successful execution of projects within the railway maintenance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee measured term contracts related to railway maintenance projects.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare accurate estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential cost overruns, and implement necessary cost-control measures.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
• Prepare and submit timely reports on project finances, including budget forecasts and cost variance analysis.
• Negotiate contracts and subcontract agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Provide expert advice on cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the railway maintenance sector.
• Strong understanding of measured term contracts and relevant contractual frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Membership in a relevant professional organization (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
