Our Client is currently recruiting for Support Workers to work for a charitable organisation based in Leicester . The role is providing support to women and children in hostels in Leicester. Candidates must have experience in providing support and must be able to ideally speak a BAME language.
Responsibilities of the role:
• To receive, assess and accept BAMER multi-lingual referrals and admissions
• To implement the referrals process, undertake needs and risk assessment and ensure that each referral is followed through to an outcome
• To provide one to one culturally sensitive practical and emotional support to service users experiencing violence and abuse, whether that be physical, mental, sexual etc.
• To assist in formulating Support Plans and training programmes and take appropriate action
• To ensure all aspects of case work are undertaken including advice, support assistance in claming benefits, move on accommodation, legal redress, immigration, employment/ career opportunities, health and education budgeting and money management
• To help with Support Plans and training programmes and take appropriate action
• To identify specific needs of service users and where appropriate refer to specialist agencies
