IT Technician

Join an exciting role with a rapidly growing Event IT company specialising in supplying IT solutions and connectivity to events throughout the UK.

As an IT Technician, you’ll organise conferences, festivals, and exhibitions, as well as live streams and remote connectivity. You’ll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation.
The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

As a IT Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

 •  Client Liaison and Event Planning: Understand client’s event requirements and produce detailed proposals including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing, and budgets.
 •  Event Logistics Management: Coordinate suppliers and manage all logistics such as venue, travel, and hotels.
 •  Event Promotion: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to publicise and promote the event.
 •  Pre-Event Preparation: Manage all pre-event technical and resource planning.
 •  Event Execution: Handle client queries, troubleshoot on the event day to ensure smooth running within budget, and manage a team of staff with full briefings.
 •  Facilities Management: Organise facilities for car parking, security, first aid, and media.
 •  Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.
 •  Post-Event Management: Oversee event dismantling, venue clearance, post-event evaluation for future improvements, and research opportunities for new clients and events.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and personal qualities:

 •  Communication and Digital Literacy: Good written and verbal communication skills, confident in using Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and web browsing.
 •  Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated team leadership and the ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
 •  Flexibility and Resilience: Flexibility with hours if jobs run over, and the ability to work under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment.
 •  Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 •  Organisation and Discipline: Well-organised and self-disciplined.
 •  Positive Work Attitude: Positive attitude towards work.
 •  Technical Skills and Requirements: Passion for technology and possession of a driving license is essential for this role.

Why Join: You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and creativity. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of events and make a real impact on their success. We believe in investing in our employees, and we offer a supportive work environment where you can grow and develop your skills.

Benefits:

 •  Competitive Salary: £26,500 to £30,500 per annum
 •  Holiday Allowance: 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
 •  Varied Role: Opportunity for regional and national travel
 •  Wellbeing: Private healthcare scheme
